Huh. You learn something new everyday I tell you.
Until now, on the rare occasion that I wrote the word, I've spelled it "spritely" (as in of, or pertaining to, a sprite - like TInkerbell).

Lo and behold, upon further investigation, I see that it is indeed
sprightly: full of spirit and vitality; "a sprightly young girl"; "a sprightly dance"
